Gracie the most influential, no surprise. Sakuraba "the Gracie killer" took out the whole family, submitting two of them, one by decission and Royce Gracie threw in the towel after 90 minutes.

Why would I want to end every post the same way? |

Reason I liked it was how they spent time on so many different aspects, how Lyoto Machida brought karate into the sport. Cung Le did the same for Tae Kwon Do, and Dan Severn for classical wrestling. How Masakatsu Funaki created this spectacle in Japan, got pro wrestling and shoot fighting into it, and actually beat some of the very best of all time, including Bas Rutten and Ken Shamrock, and then tying it off with how Ken Shamrock actually brought all the different styles together to form what is now the combat sport of mma, and the massive legacy of Gracie BBJ.
And then also how all of this is pre-dated by Gene LeBell three-quarters of a century ago doing mixed fights vs heavyweight boxers, showing the power of Judo to the world. Missed opportunity to mention that Akido is bullshit compared to Judo though
