I've been searching a bit and there's really alot here. My only gripe is with the quality.
Anyways, if you want to try this out you have to live in the UK or use a proxy to make spotify think you do. Here's how you do that:
goto http://www.proxz.com/proxy_list_uk_0_ext.html and pick one with port 81. goto your browser and choose the "use proxy" option under LAN-settings (in IE). You need a UK zip code, so use this one for Leeds: LS1 5JL
once the proxy is working, goto https://www.spotify.com/en/get-started/
Enjoy! |

hmm...its really great in many ways...you can find pretty much anything you want in a second and it plays instantly. There are some commercials there somewhere, but I still haven't found any. The quality wasn't as bad as I first thought...no problem for me really. But I just discovered that this service has the same problems as everybody else - getting permission from stubborn grumpy old labels, so there's no Beatles, no Pink Floyd and no Led zeppelin |

Has anyone given this a try?
The more I use it the more I love it. I'm interested in hearing another oppinion, maybe from someone that listens more to music than I do |

Or live in Sweden...
Spotify is actually Swedish. I've been using it for a few months, and have a few invites to share, but since it can't be used in DK or FO, I haven't shared this yet.
Can't say I agree with you on the quality issue. The stream is so-called CD-quality (160 kbit/s), and I can't tell the difference between the stream and locally playing music.
Since I can't use this at work (in DK), I use a similar (french) service, which you could use as an alternative: www.deezer.com. It seems to have a comparable selection of music as Spotify (i.e. a lot), but since it is web-based, the interface isn't as nice, and the streaming isn't as good as Spotify. The quality of the music on Deezer seems to vary, and stuff like album art and details are also a bit sketchy at times. But overall a good service, and a good stand-in for Spotify if you're not one of the selected |

yeah, the quality is fine acutally. Just picked some lower quality recordings first time around.
Its no problem to register even if you live in DK or FO. You just have to use a proxy to register the account. After that its completely hassle free.
I've found a bunch of faroese music on there aswell. Stuff like Moirae, Enekk Eivør and Stanley Samuelsen...great stuff |
