Fantastic rant, we enjoyed both sections of the video, but that rant in the second half was something else. |

Love how he doesn't mention climate change at all. That helps getting the message across. |

06:52: "In 2026, the levelized cost of solar and storage, which includes the costs of purchasing both the panels and the batteries, is now lower than any other kind of energy production we know of"
Can we talk about his claim here? Surely this isn't true for 24/7 even power? |

I think that's what he means, although I do think there's the caveat that this is valid for sunny regions only; not the least sunny place on earth.
Here's the article showing on screen at that time: Solar electricity every hour of every day is here and it changes everything |

LCOE for solar for him in Chicagoland is different than for anyone in Northern Europe. Even if he thinks its far north and cloudy, Chicago is just south of 42°N, similar latitude to Rome. |

Looking at that article, the future looks promising. Great that the sunniest places in the world can make it work, and great that average sunny places can almost make it work. But for FO, the amount of batteries we would need to average out our renewables (if we ever get them) will be staggering. Pumped storage looks like the only real option at the moment. |
