I think it looks pretty slick, but it is not for everyone.
Love or hate the car, I would think everyone would be able to appreciate that it looks different from any other production pickup truck. They all look boringly the same compared to the cybertruck. |

Well you could say the same thing about the Fiat Multipla, but it's still one of the ugliest cars ever made.
Oh, and the cybertruck isn't even road legal in the EU, because it chops people in half with those sharp edges. Clever design. And also the build quality looks pretty awful, especially on the inside.
This one looks a lot better in my eyes, even if i don't give a shit about trucks in general.

Pickup trucks are just stupid today. As a genuine working vehicle in 90% of the cases they would be better off getting a van, or a stationcar, or a flatbed truck, and in the remaining 10% they would be better off getting a 30 year old pickup truck.

I get what your saying Vuzman but you're missing the point of a pickup. The idea you can throw something in the boot, then hose it down or just leave it for nature to clean, thats brilliant. One could attach a trailer to a 4x4 and you have the same idea yea well good luck with that when you go offroad. |

@Boddin: I'm not missing the point of pickups; the buyers are. How many actually need it for that, and how many use it like that? How many of them would be better off with an older pickup with the same or bigger truck bed, but smaller in overall size?
Pickup trucks became a disproportionally big thing in the US because of a taxes, which means they're cheaper than they should be, and more profitable for auto makers. Cars in general are getting bigger due to safety and other reasons, so since the auto makers are incentivised to sell big trucks to everyone, they just needed a few ads to appeal to the fragile male ego, and hey presto, now pickups are the most popular kind of car in the US, despite most people not needing them, and despite that they're getting too big for parking spaces etc, even in the US where everything is supersized.
I totally accept that pickups are the best choice for some people, like farmers and ranchers, but those are a vanishingly small part of the actual buyers.
I should probably mention something about global climate change and walkable cities, but my blood pressure is already too high |
