I think this plan is pretty fascinating - and maybe someday we can all take a rocket from Vágar spaceport to Hawaii in 45 mins. but that is at least 30 years out. Still, the only real obstacle to this is rocket safety. The question remains if we have the technology to make a rocket as safe as an airplane. We managed to make airplanes very safe, but it took several decades to do so. As Elon is fond of saying: nobody needs to win a Nobel for this to work.
