Some follow-up: She's been doing the rounds on US news shows, seems they are all trying to hire her now. So seems this, inadvertently, has become a new way to get a better job

Yes and no. I could see a news director, even a über patriotic one, thinking:"best not hire her as she has proven she can go off-script on air in a Network/Newsroom kind of way", which is something they all hate, no matter what news station.
