Photoshop etc. Note that CS2 is from 2005, and there might be issues with installing on the newest OS'es. |

Afaik, this release by Adobe was a mistake, they only meant to deactivate the online registration of the product, not release the whole product. |

Yes, it seems this is only supposed to be for existing users who have existing licenses. However, this was not made clear by Adobe when they put it out, and just about everyone in tech news announced that CS2 was now free. The page, downloads, and keys are still open to everyone, and there is no explanation of any restrictions on the page. There is no way a lawyer could prosecute anyone who downloaded and used this.
Adobe still hasn't given an offical statement on this, only a staff posting on a forum.
They really should just say that, yes, it's free, download away. It is almost 7 years old, so it is not going to steal any customers from their newest product. It might, however, mean less pirating of their newest products, and more people getting introduced to their products, who might in turn become paying customers. |
