If you compare this  image to what H.P. Lovecraft was writing in the early 1900's, you see that the text is so much more modern in this picture, than in the reproductions of Lovecraft's texts.
From this I suspect that is is a forgery.
Also words like Automatic, America, Transcribed, Artificially, students, etc. were not words that were common at the time, or not used in that kind of context. |

Seriously, Roffen...?
First of all, I think most of Lovecraft's texts were printed in newspapers or cheap books, while this is from a magazine. A magazine usually has relatively high quality paper and printing.

I really don't know what to say about the vocabulary - except that I disagree. Try reading Arthur Conan Doyle or H.G.Wells - I'm pretty sure you'll find those words used like that. |
