Couldn't agree more. The films I have watched in 3D have been disappointing, most often the only thing that really stands out of the screen is the subtitles, and it's bloody annoying. So basically you pay more and get a pair of glasses, annoying subtitles(which are impossible to ignore as they are in your face), a headache and your eyes will hurt.
Of course, it's easy to just make a pair of these yourself.

Hmmm... From what this guy is saying, it seems that you could easily create your own 2D glasses by combining 2 pairs of 3D glasses.
Then you'd save the shipping cost.
EDIT - just realised that Vuzman says pretty much the same thing in his last line. *facepalm*
