I've seen a few such lists - that poster actually has quite a few good lists.
I definitely agree with the number one pick and most of the others on the list. But I think he fails to consider what makes a really good cover song.
IMO a good cover song is when the artist makes the song his/her own and somehow adds something to it. That is why Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash etc. usually top lists of good covers.
E.g.: I consider the Scissor Sisters' version of Comfortably Numb to be a good cover song, since it takes the song in a completely different direction and is so far removed from the original that you can't really compare them.
