I find it fascinating that someone can obsess this much about something. And this entire post is about his travel setup... think about what he has set up at home!

He is a bit obsessive, but i can relate moderately. Interesting bit about the coffegrinder, my own grinder is one of the cheaper models but works fine. The trick is to have a grinder that "cuts" the beans, instead of smashing them into small pieces as the very cheap grinders do. As you say his homesetup must be amazing.

I own several similar items that I use from time to time including a Bodum Handgrinder and a Soehnle scale. I swear to Java Columbia coffee though
I've been measuring the beans and water I use by weight rather than volume for quite some time. If you want to get really precise it's really your only option.
I can divide my life into the time before and after I knew that this Kalita slow pour kettle existed.
That's so crazy....
@Aliennizer: I hope you don't mean "cut" as in a blade grinder?

I shouldn't talk too loudly; I've only got a blade grinder, and I even use it for stuff other than coffee...
