Bass is often underappreciated, so loved stumbling across a video by a knowledgeable guy that lists the best ones (in his opinion). He states that the top 5 could be in any order.
His list is:
#20 Muse - Hysteria
#19 Van Halen - Runnin' with the Devil
#18 Beastie Boys - Sabotage
#17 Nirvana - Lounge Act
#16 Primus - Jerry Was a Racecar Driver
#15 The Allman Brothers Band- Whipping Post
#14 Iron Maiden - Wrathchild
#13 A Perfect Circle- Weak and Powerless
#12 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground
#11 Motörhead- Ace of Spades
#10 Queen - Another One Bites the Dust
#9 Alice in Chains - Would?
#8 Megadeth - Peace Sells
#7 Pink Floyd - Money
#6 Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused
#5 TOOL - Schism
#4 Pearl Jam - Jeremy
#3 The Beatles- Come Together
#2 Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion
#1 Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls
Honourable mentions are Black Sabbath - N.I.B, Dream Theater - Panic Attack, Radiohead - The National Anthem, Jane's Addiction - Summertime Rolls, Yes - I'm Running, Rage Against the Machine - Bullet in the Head, Rush - Turn the Page.
I don't agree completely, but many of them deserve a place, I would add Black Sabbath - N.I.B in the top 20, Iron Maiden needs to be bumped up into the top 5, while Pearl Jam needs to drop out of the top 10, while Alice in Chains should only have a honourable mention.
Things I believe he missed were U2 (although maybe just a honourable mention), Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc., Ozzy - No More Tears and White Stripes - Seven Nation Army! I would not add Green Day - Longview, although I understand there are people who want that in there somehow.
What do you think? What did he absolutely miss? Did I miss something obvious? Keep it to one song per band.
