I think we need a thread dedicated to great live performances. I probably could have put the next clip into the "covers that rock" thread, but it isn't a cover, just a different version. This is just one hell of a version of Pink Floyd's High Hopes, it's got a real bell, strings and probably one of the greatest slide guitar sections ever. Clicking it up to 720p makes a lot of difference.

I was at a pretty cool concert on Wednesday.
The band was "Peter, Bjørn and John", who for some reason aren't big in Sweden, but I know them from VH1 and ÚF.

Can't find a good live video just now, so you'll have to trust me that they're good , but here's a couple of music videos:

Didn't want to start a new thread only for this. So i'm pigggybacking on this thread. Resently me, Vuz and Torrellion were in Gøteborg and saw Blind Guardian preform. There where ofcourse some of their old songs, but also some songs from their new album. "At the edge of time". I really like the new album, and therefore I was looking at some videos on youtube, to try to get a better understanding of the process behind making a BG album. So for those of you that share my facination with BG, these series of 6 videos is quite interessting.

BLIND GUARDIAN - The sacred wheel of time cannot erase the medieval song

Although Bruce is only 54 years old in this video, he is always enthusiastic and energetic. Just liked this one a lot.

This blew my mind.
The band is called "Hush"

YouTube comments include praise such as:
"This is worse than seeing your 5-year-old in a jacuzzi with a priest"
"Never, in the field of human music, have so many been ear raped by so few."

It seems that they are an actual band that practises almost every day and do it because they love music. And they are not on drugs.

Maybe we should have gone to Paris in 1998?

Looks like Sting has been stuck on an island for some time. He is the only guy singing Roxanne the way it's supposed to be sung, people always seem to mess up the song, must be hard song to sing. Oh and also the video quality is great, and also caveman bearded Sting, and also Stevie Wonder singing "put on the red light", and also the rest of the 50 or so people on that stage.

Sting & Stevie Wonder - Roxanne (Live in Madison Square Garden)

Not all of you like Robbie Williams, but there's just something about 375.000 people singing along to his songs that gets me. Live at Knebworth is definitely a great live performancesmiley

Bono knows how to put on a show. The girl he takes on stage will never forget that day, and I'm fairly sure any future boyfriend of her's will understand just finesmiley

I really like big stadium or outdoor videos, but Coldplay shows you can also make a great live performance with 300 people in broad daylightsmiley

Also, great find on that Madison Sqare Garden concert, have viewed it all and some of those performances are incredible - U2, Mick Jagger and Fergie on stage...with Fergie outdoing both Bono and Jaggersmiley ... and Patti Smith mixing it up with Bono and the Boss!

Not often you see U2 as a house bandsmiley

Yeah Fergie just blew me away, and the boss makes people seem a little less important.

The Boss just keeps on going, an amazing entertainer and an energizer bunny, has to be the most consistant performer ever through the years. And the E-street band, best band ever hands down.

RIP Clarence Clemons "the big man with the sax".
