A couple of years ago I first heard what was to become one of my favorite bands ever. You may have heard me going on and on about it: Coheed and Cambria.
The genre is probably best described as Progressive Rock, and their influences are classic/progressive rock bands Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Police, Queen, and Thin Lizzy and even heavy metal pioneers Iron Maiden. They have released a series of concept albums (five, actually), and are in fact a concept band, revolving around a sci-fi story called "The Amory Wars" (influenced by, among others, the Star Wars trilogy), and there's even a comic book/graphic novel series (illustrated by a.o. Christopher Shy of Magic TG fame).
They played in Copenhagen two years ago (review by Heavyjam.dk), but I didn't go cause I had other plans and I was gonna see them at Roskilde that year anyway. Then they canceled on me. Argh!
But now they're back in Denmark, playing two dates, one in Copenhagen and one in í…rhus.
I've already bought a ticket to Pumpehuset, April 8. If anyone else is interested, come along!

Die white girls, die white girls
Not exactly my cup of tea, but they have a distinctive sound. I can understand why you like them.
No decision is so fine as to not bind us to its consequences.
No consequence is so unexpected as to absolve us of our decisions.
Not even death.
