 This Monday June 4th it is one year ago Gongumenn moved from being a concept in my head to a home on the web.
The roots our project can be traced back over two years, but in the spring of 2006 things started to take form. Grizlas agreed to teach himself the secrets of websites and I began to look for a host for this home on the web that I strongly felt our clique needed. After a difficult month of May where we had a different name and a different host, which didn’t let us do the things we wanted, Grizlas found the wonders of php-fusion and I found the excellent site that is servage.net and from there it was easy, with the site itself going online on June 8th and most of the clique using the site quite quickly.
Over the year we have welcomed other users and have settled into using our web home in a way that exceeds my initial hopes for the site. We have had discussions on serious issues, shared our photos, told jokes and even had a full blown hacker attack…
A site is nothing without it’s users, and I have been quite surprised by the amout of usage gongumenn.com has received over the last year and thank you all for that. Furthermore I would like to give a very warm thank you to Grizlas for taking the time and effort to manage the technical side of this site, without your work there would be no website for us to use and this would still just be an idea in my head. Here’s to hoping we’ll be on for many years to come. Cheers and thank you all.

18505 unique visits. Since web statistics came in late November we've also had 1834 Unique visitors and 75139 page views.
Far and away the most read and commented news item: HomoFObia by Torellion with 552 views and 85 comments, followed by 62 Year birthday by Lazarus with 275 reads and 24 comments.
