Rockabye Baby!

Have you heard of this series of music?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockabye_Baby!

I just discovered that a track I had tagged in Shazam had different artwork than I expected. I then found out that the version I'd heard was from a Rocabye Baby album.

Apparently these albums are quite popular and include covers of songs by Metallica, Queen, Tool, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and many more...

For your consideration I present:
Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Tool:

Rockabye Baby Lullaby Renditions of Tool - Sober

IMHO it's a bit too creepy for a lullaby - especially if you know that the lyrics include passages like:

I am just a worthless liar
I am just an imbecile
I will only complicate you
Trust in me and fall as well
I will find a center in you
I will chew it up and leave

Didn't listen to it until now because I new it would be shit. At least Metallica make it their own shitpile, they shat all over Rainbow's songs.

Really? I thought it was really good. It's by far the best cover on the album, and there's actually a few good ones on it.

Have listened to 5-6 of them and it's all shit except Catch the Rainbow maybe. I don't like it at all. Just leave it awesome. A Dio cover album isn't a very good idea, some people shouldn't be covered. It's sort of like having Shakira covering Metallica.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but for every great cover, there's a grumpy old man saying what you're saying... Let's keep an open mind smiley

I actually didn't like the 'Catch the Rainbow' cover. His singing is super weird.

I did like 'The Last In Line' (Tenacious D), 'I' (Oni Logan etc.) and 'Straight Through The Heart' (Halestorm, btw her singing reminds me of someone else, WHO?).

For every bad cover, there's a 13 year old kid who thinks that everything his heroes do is super awesome smiley

'Catch the Rainbow' is ok, his singing is special I'll give you that.

Halestorm doesn't remind me of anyone in particular, Doro Pesch maybe ?

Hey, I'll be the first one to admit when Metallica makes something that's not super awesome. They haven't yet, but I'll be sure to let you know if they do.

I edited my previous post; the Halestorm cover is of 'Straight Through The Heart', and not 'Starstruck' which is covered by Motörhead with a guest singer. Lemmy does some backup-singing, but he sounds old and tired and like he's on the verge of dying :/

I think I figured out who the Halestorm singer reminds me of:
